Growing up in Minnesota, Greg developed an early interest in nature and the out-of-doors. He graduated with a Bachelor of fine arts degree from the Minneapolis College of Art and Design. Living in Northern Lower Michigan since 1996, Greg splits his time between carving and water color paintings of life size birds, using a clean and competent style influenced by oriental compositions and nature itself.
Garman’s work is found in private and corporate collections throughout the country. One of his watercolors was purchased by the National Aviary for their permanent collection located in Pittsburg Pennsylvania. Greg has received many awards and honors for his watercolors and carvings, which can be seen in selected galleries in Northern Michigan.
