ben dombey : bio

The first time Ben Dombey saw molten glass he was instantly hooked. He was introduced to the amazing material as a senior in high school. Ben spent 5 years studying glass at Tulane University in New Orleans. After Hurricane Katrina he moved to Seattle where he learned a great deal working for various artists during the semester away from New Orleans. In 2008 he received his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree. He has traveled around the world to study glass with and help the best of the best, from Istanbul, Venice, Scotland, and all around North America. He remained in New Orleans for a few years after earning his degree and continued to teach, assist other artists, and create his own work. In 2012, Ben received a Masters of Fine Art in glassblowing at the Rochester Institute of Technology. He recently returned to New Orleans where he works in glassblowing studios full time.
